My last post was in late June - I'll admit that the heat of the summer and pregnancy swallowed me up for a while! Then came KB's birthday, her first trip to the E.R. (forehead cut - apparently common with toddlers), a new pre-school year, Hurrican Ike, losing power for 2 weeks, more heat and more pregnancy, crazy nesting...and exhale: a perfect peaceful ending to the rush: sweet little A arrived safely and beautifully on October 6.<br /><br />Sigh. We made it. And we're so excited he's here!<br /><br />Now that I'm getting back on my feet again and feeling a tiny bit more rested, I've been able to return some of the generosity we were given shortly after having little A. I belong to a great mother's group in our community that has a "baby meals" delivery program for families with new babies. It was such a blessing - and was so fun to see what everyone brought! So, since it's baby season down here, it's been fun to cook for girlfriends who have their hands full these days.<br /><br />One recipe we loved that was super simple and comforting was <a href="http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Poppy-Seed-Chicken/Detail.aspx">Poppyseed Chicken</a>. Not sure where we've been - as this was the first time we had tried this old-fashioned recipe. It's so comforting-Sunday-night-casserole! Wanted to officially make a post since the creation of my blog's new attire. A huge thank you to Dawn at Barefoot Blogs - who does amazing work!<br /><br />It's currently 95-ish outside, so I'm stayed in this afternoon. KB wouldn't have any part of napping today, so hubby broke down and took her for a costly nap-drive so I could get some work done.<br /><br />I'm off to continue my brainstorm on pets....more details to come...and I hear a car pulling up from a nap-drive.<br /><br />More soon!
